Detox Shots & Juice Cleanse

What the evidence actually says about detoxification

Do detox juices actually remove toxins from your body?

Quick answer

No โ€” your liver and kidneys do that, not juice. But ingredients in our detox shots (amla, cucumber, curry leaves) genuinely support liver function and hydration. Treat them as a daily nutrient boost, not a cleanse. Real detox is sleep, water, fibre and reduced alcohol.

We believe in honesty. The scientific evidence does not support the claim that juice "detoxes" remove toxins. Your liver and kidneys are your body's built-in detoxification system and they work remarkably well. A critical review in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics found no compelling evidence for detox diets eliminating toxins. However, increasing your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables through juices does provide valuable nutrients, antioxidants, and hydration that support your organs' natural detoxification processes.

โš ๏ธHonest Note: At iBites, we call our hair & cucumber blend a "detox" shot because it supports your body's natural processes with nutrient-dense ingredients โ€” not because it replaces your liver's job. We believe in transparency over marketing hype.

Effects of a short-term juice-based diet on cardiovascular risk factors

What are the real benefits of drinking green juices regularly?

While green juices won't magically "detox" you, they offer real, evidence-based benefits: increased vegetable intake, improved hydration, higher antioxidant consumption, and an easy way to consume nutrients you might otherwise miss. Studies show diets rich in fruits and vegetables are associated with reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers.
